Philips plans to take Indian brand Preethi to global markets
Dutch electronics maker Philips plans to take Indian kitchen appliances brand Preethi to global markets.
Philips, which acquired Preethi last year when it bought out Chennai-based Maya Appliances, has already launched the Preethi range of kitchen appliances in Singapore and the Middle East, Philips Electronics India Vice Chairman and MD Rajeev Chopra said.
"There is scope to launch it in other global markets since Preethi has a huge brand equity for its mixer-grinders amongst south Indian consumers," he told reporters here while announcing the company's results. Philips has also utilised Preethi's technology in its own range of induction cookers and mixer-grinders. Chopra said Preethi plants and research unit will develop innovative products for both domestic and international markets in association with Philips global hubs in Brazil, Austria and China.
Philips declared revenues of Rs 5,579 crore for 15 months ended March.
