Philips Lighting targets domestic and institutional sales in Northeast India
Philips Lighting India is targeting domestic and institutional sales to increase its business in Northeast India.
“Northeast India is a growing market. The region accounts for 3-4% of our business,” Harsh Chitale, CEO, Philips Lighting Solutions South Asia, who was in Guwahati on May 9, told ET.
The company is engaged in institutional sales and has supplied solar lights to Meghalaya and Manipur, Chitale said. "We have supplied lights to Northeast Frontier Railway and IIT-Guwahati. We have done business with ONGC Tripura Power Company in Tripura,” he said.
“Our target is to expand in other Northeastern states and grow in the domestic segment,” he said.
Philips Lighting has about 34 dealers in Northeast India and its products are sold at more than 2,000 retail outlets.
