Murali Sivaraman to be the new CEO of Philips India
Murali Sivaraman will join Philips as the CEO designate for Indian Subcontinent in July'07 and would take over the reins from K Ramachandran who is due to retire in October this year.
NEW DELHI: Murali Sivaraman will join Philips as the CEO designate for Indian Subcontinent in July'07 and would take over the reins from K Ramachandran who is due to retire in October this year.
The incoming head of Philips India is currently with ICI, UK. He will also be appointed to the board of Philips Electronics India in October 2007 as the managing director, subject to the approvals.
Mr Sivaraman, a IIM Ahmedabad passout, is a chartered accountant. He joined ICI in India in 1987 where he worked through various assignments in accounting and finance before becoming Financial Controller for the ICI Paints business in India.
Thereafter he was appointed managing director of ICI Paints (Singapore) in 1996. Over the past ten years he has held a number of senior management positions in ICI’s global operations and is currently Process Director for ICI’s ERP Project, based in London, UK.
The outgoing CEO in contrast, who has spent nine years at the helm of affairs in India, has been a human resource man.
