LGEIL plans sales worth Rs 400 cr in Kerala in '06

Speaking after the launch of LGEIL's latest offering in the premium product category in Kerala Moon B Shin, Deputy Managing Director, LGEIL, said Kerala holds great potential as a market for LG. The company was optimistic of the success of the premium range of products.
He said during August and September, LGEIL expects to do business worth Rs 150 crore in Kerala. During the same period last year, the company had achieved sales worth Rs 100 crore from Kerala, he said.
The company has plans to invest Rs 130 crore per year in India, for the next five years, he said.
India is an important market for LG, he said, adding "our growth drivers shall be our high end range of products with increased focus on Flat Panel Displays and GSM mobile phone."
LG Electronics India Pvt Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Electronics, South Korea, was established in January 1997 in India. LGEIL achieved a turnover of Rs 7500 crore in 2005.
