LG launches star rated airconditioners

LG Electronics has introduced its star rated airconditioners in the market.

NEW DELHI: LG Electronics has introduced its star rated airconditioners in the market. Simultaneously the company has invested Rs 5 crore in the installation of equipments at its Greater Noida manufacturing facility to enhance its tools for measuring energy efficiency and performance of its products.

As per the new norms appliance makers need to disclose the star rating ranging from 1 to 5 to indicate the energy efficiency of a product for the end consumer.

The company has already launched 4 star and 5 star models, indicating higher energy efficiency, in split type air-conditioners as a part of Bureau of Energy Efficiency’s star rating program.

Commenting on the development, Ajay Bajaj, business group head(Air Conditioners) at LG Electronics said, "Energy efficiency is a vital element for all products as they help in saving electricity and directly give benefits to the user. We at LG are committed to make our products as energy efficient as possible through various endeavors and thus ensure our valuable customers reap long term benefits in terms of perfect cooling and power saving."
