LG hikes monitors, optical storage devices prices by 7-10 pc
Electronics major, LG Electronics India, today announced a hike of 7-10 per cent in its product categories like monitors and optical storage devices (OSD).
The increase in price will be done in a phased manner, starting with three per cent with immediate effect, a press release issued here said.
"It has become imperative for us to consider a price hike due to rise in exchange rate, which has gone up significantly in the last one month," the company's Business Group Head, Monitors and OSDs, R Manikandan, said.
In LCD monitors, the impact will be a combined effect of dollar appreciation, proportionate duty increase and the panel price increase, it said.
LG is a very well-known brand in the consumer electronics, home appliances, IT hardware and mobile communications space.
It has manufacturing facilities at Greater Noida and Ranjangaon.
