L&T’s chip arm unveils 40 products, debuts first silicon carbide chip for EVs and power systems at SEMICON India 2026

L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT) on Friday said it has unveiled 40 products at SEMICON India 2026, including its first silicon carbide (SiC) product platform and a fully designed-in-India BLDC motor controller.

The company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, is showcasing the products under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem”, with applications spanning secure identity, surveillance, connectivity, computing and power electronics.

The shares of L&T were trading at Rs 3861.50 apiece on the BSE, up 0.82%, as of Friday, 11.15 AM.

One of the key products on display is LTSCT’s 1200V silicon carbide MOSFET platform, which the company has developed for power conversion applications.

The chips are designed for use in EV fast chargers, microgrids, solid-state transformers and traction inverters, where higher efficiency is increasingly important.

The company is also showcasing its first in-house SiC power modules and devices as part of its Power Discrete and High-Power portfolio.

Chip designed in India for BLDC fans

LTSCT has also taped out a highly integrated BLDC motor controller, which it says is fully designed in India.

The controller includes protection features aimed at supporting longer product warranties. Its architecture is designed to allow one platform to be used across multiple models, potentially helping reduce bill-of-materials costs.

The company said the chip is aimed at supporting the shift towards more energy-efficient BLDC ceiling fans in India.

From USB-C chargers to AI cameras

The 40-product portfolio also includes an in-house designed USB-C GaN charger and an integrated BLDC controller under its Analog & Mixed Signal portfolio.

In computing, LTSCT is showcasing a Vision Camera SoC that combines image processing with on-device AI acceleration.

It is also displaying a Secure Identity Platform for applications such as e-passports, payment cards and national ID systems. The platform includes hardware-rooted security and cryptographic acceleration, according to the company.

In connectivity and radio frequency (RF), LTSCT is showcasing four indigenously designed modules for smart metering, automotive applications and digital payments.

These include the LCC43 Dynamic QR and Soundbox proof of concept for NPCI’s proposed Trusted Device Layer.

L&T says focus is shifting from chip design to products

The company said its SEMICON India showcase is aligned with the Semicon 2.0 initiative and is focused on moving semiconductor design from innovation to scalable products and market-ready applications.

The company said its live demonstrations at SEMICON India are intended to show how its semiconductor portfolio can be used in real-world applications across mobility, energy, security, payments and digital infrastructure.
