Kazuo Ninomiya to take charge as Nikon India MD on June 15
Takashina said in the note that during his more than six-year tenure at Nikon India, he had visited 114 cities and towns across the country.
Managing director Hiroshi Takashina is moving to take charge of the Japanese digital imaging company's Chinese operations and will be replaced by Kazuo Ninomiya, currently the general manager of Nikon Singapore handling sales for Asian operations, including India.
In a note to trade partners written by Takashina, a copy of which is with ET, Nikon India said the new managing director will take charge on June 15, 2015. Takashina will join Nikon Imaging China Sales Co as managing director on July 1, 2015.
Takashina said in the note that during his more than six-year tenure at Nikon India, he had visited 114 cities and towns across the country. Nikon is the largest player in the digital camera market, including SLRs and compact cameras, in the country and competes with Canon and Sony.
"As Ninomiya-san is well aware of our operations in India, I have a strong confidence that he will lead Nikon team to support you and continue our strong No. 1 position in the market forever," Takashina said in the note.
