Hometech Digital gets licence for Akai products in India

Hometech Digital, a Paras group firm, is targeting to make Akai among the top five consumer electronics brands in the country, the company said in a release.

NEW DELHI: Hometech Digital, which has got the brand licence for the Japanese brand Akai, is looking at a fresh start in the Indian market.

The brand will be headed by Ramesh C Gaur, who has been appointed as the managing director of Akai India.

Commenting on the development, Gaur said: "We are optimistic about our plans and approach to establish and maintain consumer belief and satisfaction in us. As accepted globally, AKAI is known for its value-driven methods of business, and we aim to continue with the same values".

Hometech Digital bagged the brand licence for Akai in July 2016 for next ten years.

He further said that increasing consumption of consumer electronics will be a key growth driver for Akai in India.

Presently, Akai's India portfolio includes LED TVs, washing machines, air purifiers, air conditioners, microwave ovens, kitchen and small home appliances and refrigerators.
