Havells to complete Baddi expansion by July-end; Reo switches to be growth driver in rural India
Havells India Ltd said on Wednesday the expansion of its Baddi plant that manufactures switches and switchgears will be complete by July-end.
The company has invested Rs 100 crore on the expansion that will double its capacities to 10 lakh SKUs per day.
The FMEG company that has forayed into conventional switches category with Reo brand recently, expects the brand to be a growth driver for the company in rural India.
Tier II and III cities and towns will be tapped through Reo, said Deepak Agarwal, senior VP, Havells. Until now, the company was into modular switches that has a market size of near Rs 1500 crore. With the new brand, the company expects to make inroads in the conventional switches market which is also pegged at Rs 1,500 crore and growing 15% y-o-y.
