Haier, the Chinese refrigerator maker, has launched its first refrigerator manufacturing and research & development facility in India to expand operations here.

MUMBAI: Haier, the Chinese refrigerator maker, has launched its first refrigerator manufacturing and research & development facility in India to expand operations here.
The new manufacturing facility, spread over 40 acres, is located at Ranjangoan in Pune, Maharashtra
Haier is upgrading the facility to create a R&D facility for refrigerators. The facility has been acquired from Anchor Daewoo Industries by Haier India.
The company initially plans to manufacture its wide range of refrigerators. The facility is expected to have a headcount of over 500 people and may look at recruiting more people as it commissions to its full capacity.
