Google Pixel 9 Pro launching in India: Key features, price, and availability

Google has announced that its latest smartphone, the Pixel 9 Pro, will be available in India from October 17, 2024. The starting price for the Pixel 9 Pro is set at Rs 1,09,900 for the model featuring 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This launch is expected to significantly influence the premium smartphone market.

The Pixel 9 series, which was introduced in August, includes Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. While the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL were released earlier, the Pixel 9 Pro's release was delayed, building considerable anticipation among consumers.

The Pixel 9 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The device is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset, developed on a 4nm process by Samsung, promising enhanced performance and energy efficiency.


For photography, the Pixel 9 Pro offers a triple-camera system on the back, comprising a 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 30x digital zoom. It also includes a 42MP front-facing camera for selfies.

The Pixel 9 Pro runs on Android 14 and will receive seven years of Android updates, Pixel Drops, and security patches, ensuring long-term software support. Consumers can purchase the device from e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and retail stores such as Reliance Digital and Chroma.
