Fire at Khaitan Fan's manufacturing unit in Medak

SANGAREDDY (TELANGANA): A fire broke out at a manufacturing unit of a leading fan company in Medak district of Telangana today.

However, no casualty was reported, police said. In the blaze that took place early this morning at Khaitan Fan's manufacturing unit in IDA Bollaram industrial area of Medak, unit's ceiling and table fan sections were gutted, Bollaram police station sub-inspector Prashanth said.

Four fire tenders were pressed into service that reached the spot at around 7 AM, while additional fire fighters and anti-fire chemicals were called from BHEL, IDA and Dr Reddy's in the adjoining locality.

No loss of life was reported as there was no night shift at the unit last night but heavy loss of property was incurred, the sub-inspector said, adding, that the exact loss of properties was being assessed.

From initial investigations it seems a short circuit might have led to the fire, however, exact cause behind it is yet to be ascertained, he added.
