Lead storage batteries manufacturer Exide Industries (EIL) has entered into an agreement with UK-based Atraverda Ltd to make smaller and more eco-friendly lead acid batteries.

EIL would would jointly develop bi-polar technology based lead acid batteries at the new research block recently commissioned in Kolkata, Exide director S K Mittal said.
The research would be based on Atraverda patented Ebonex technology.
