Delhi co in a soup over Wipro logo imitation in bulbs
Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCL) has won a court order preventing a Delhi-based company from producing bulbs with a lookalike logo of Wipro Safelite.
The Delhi High Court has also appointed its official to seize the stocks of SK Lamps, WCCL said in a statement. Another Delhi manufacturer, KK Lamps, was ordered in May by the same court to close operations after a complaint by WCCL.
As the brand becomes more and more popular, it is becoming more susceptible to trademark offences. We will go all out in our efforts to safeguard our brand against such trademark infringements and ensure that our consumers continue to get the quality lighting products that Wipro Safelite is known for, a WCCL statement quoted senior vice-president Anil Chugh as saying.
Last year, WCCL obtained an injunction from the Chennai High Court against the company Oushadha Chandrika for manufacturing toilet soaps under an eponymous brandname.
