Canon refocuses its sales division
Digital imaging company Canon India on Wednesday announced the reorganisation of its sales and marketing structure into four new divisions as a part of the company's strategy to double revenues to Rs 800 crore in the next two years.
As a part of this restructuring, Canon India would have one common sales and marketing group headed by Canon India vice-president Alok Bharadwaj. The group will have four divisions namely business imaging solutions direct sales division, channel sales division, consumer systems products division and imaging communication products division.
“Each of these new divisions will be responsible for sales and marketing efforts including advertising, inventory planning and sales administration. All divisional heads will have profit and loss responsibility,” the statement said.
The business imaging solutions direct sales division would be headed by K Bhaskar, the channel sales division will be headed by Som Gangopadhyay, the consumer system products division would be headed by V P Sajeevan and the imaging communication products division by Praveen Sahni.
As part of the overall strategy Canon would open company-owned showrooms both in Delhi and in Mumbai where the entire range of Canon products would be on display. The new outlets would be in place within this year.
Commenting on the reorganisation Mr Bharadwaj said, "This reorganisation is a critical part of an overall strategy to help Canon streamline its business operations.
With dedicated divisions for core areas of operation, we expect them to operate efficiently so that it creates value for our customers, both corporates and end users.”
