Budget 2011: ECSEPC for exemption of customs duty on import of raw materials for DVDs

The existing Customs Policy is silent on the exemption of customs duty on import of raw materials for manufacturing of DVD-R in India.

"This is an anomaly in the existing policy which should be amended so as to encourage the manufacturing of DVD-Rs in our own country and make them available at cheaper price to the end customer," ECSEPC said.
