Bhagwati gets Rs 5.3 cr under PLI for IT hardware

Bhagwati Products, the electronics manufacturing unit of Gurgaon-based Micromax Informatics, said on Wednesday it has received Rs 5.3 crore from the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware, for meeting the incremental production targets.

"Bhagwati Products has become the first domestic company to bag the disbursement under the PLI scheme for IT hardware," the company said. The incentive has been disbursed for 2021-22.

Under the PLI for IT hardware, the company manufactures desktops, laptops and tablets for Acer and Realme, along with other smaller brands.


Bhagwati Products is among the approved domestic companies under the existing PLI schemes for smartphones, IT hardware (tablets and laptops) and air-conditioner components.
