BEL pays Rs 109.24 cr dividend to govt for 2006-07

State-run Bharat Electronics Ltd today said it has paid a dividend 180 per cent amounting to Rs 109.24 crore to the government for the year 2006-07.

NEW DELHI: State-run Bharat Electronics Ltd today said it has paid a dividend 180 per cent amounting to Rs 109.24 crore to the government for the year 2006-07.

Company Chairman and Managing Director V V R Sastry presented a cheque of Rs 84.96 crore to Defence Minister A K Antony towards 140 per cent final dividend, BEL said in a statement.

The defence PSU, which received Navratna status earlier this year and had paid 146 per cent dividend in 2005-06, has been consistently improving its performance over the years.

It achieved a turnover of Rs 3,953 crore during 2006-07 with net profit of Rs 718.16 crore.
