Titan sales over Rs 10K cr for FY'13

BANGALORE: Leading watch manufacturer Titan Industries has recorded sales of Rs 10,009.05 crore for 2012-13, registering a growth of 14.5 per cent over last year, its Managing Director Bhaskar Bhat said on Wednesday.

"Titan had an extremely good 2012-13 and came up with an outstanding performance in a challenging economic environment," Bhat told reporters here after launching Titan Glares, a range of sunglasses designed for people in the age-group of 25 to 35 years.

Titan Glares sunglasses are priced between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,995, Bhat said. Titan Eye Plus, the third major line of consumer business from Titan Industries, has over 227 stores functional across 79 cities, Bhat added. The company plans to open 40 to 45 stores this year, and investments would be raised by franchisees, he said.

The company will advertise in smarter ways using digital and social media, Bhat said adding it would advertise through other media at later stages.
