Timex to double outlets, in talks with Reliance Retail
Timex has said it is in talks with Reliance Retail as part of plans to expand its distribution network in the country.
"We had talks with Reliance Retail and will have a presence in their first retail outlet in Ahmedabad," Timex Watches Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Salil Sadanandan told media.
The company aims to take the number of its branded outlet 'Time factory stores' to 100 by the end of the year from the current 44 at an investment of Rs 11 crore.
"We plan to have 100 Time Factory stores following the franchise model," Timex Watches Ltd Senior Vice-President (Asia) and Managing Director Kapil Kapoor told reporters.
He said the company will continue to follow a multi-brand strategy in the Time Factory outlets.
Kapoor said continuing with its practice of bringing more international brands, Timex will introduce Marc Ecko in India later this year.
Currently, Timex sells international brands like Nautica and French watch Opex. It also has strategic tie-up with Pierre Cardin.
