Symphony expects air cooler sales to recover this summer
Symphony Ltd founder and chairman Achal Bakeri said the loss of summer season last year was like losing the full year since for the cooler category, sales happen only during summer unlike AC and fans which are sold round the year.
Symphony Ltd founder and chairman Achal Bakeri said the loss of summer season last year was like losing the full year since for the cooler category, sales happen only during summer unlike AC and fans which are sold round the year.
“Our sales in current year will be similar to what we used to do many years back. All the indication suggests that the summer of 2021 will be fairly good one with buoyancy in the market. We are writing off 2020-21 as a bad dream having achieved 50-60% of previous year sales so far,” said Bakeri.
The company expects the commercial, industrial range and sales in international markets too will pick up next financial year.
Symphony sells its products to 60 countries and Bakeri said the company is also the largest air cooler manufacturer in world with far bigger international business than even the Chinese players. He said the international business accounts for almost 45% of its total sales.
“We have managed the margin pressure by a mix of price hikes, cost reduction and reduction in trade margins. Hence, the price increase has been in single digit while the overall cost has gone up in low double digit,” he said.
The company has provided its solutions in Mecca-Madina at Hajj Camp and Ramdev Patanjali Yoga Bhavan.
