Sunil D'Souza, former PepsiCo executive, appointed as Whirlpool India MD

KOLKATA: Home appliances maker Whirlpool of India has appointed Sunil D’Souza as managing director.

D’Souza will join on June 22, the company said in a press release issued on Monday. He has been with PepsiCo for 15 years, holding various senior management positions in Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and India.

Arvind Uppal, president (Asia Pacific) at Whirlpool Corporation and CMD at Whirlpool of India Ltd, said D’Souza’s rich and diverse experience across general management, strategy, sales, marketing and innovation in consumer-driven industries, coupled with his proven track record in leading and growing large businesses, makes him highly suited to lead Whirlpool India.

Uppal will continue as executive chairman of Whirlpool of India.
