Sterlite bags order worth Rs 143 cr from BSNL

Global provider of optical fibre Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd on Tuesday said it has bagged a Rs 143-crore order from telecom company BSNL for manufacture and supply of copper telecom cables.

MUMBAI: Global provider of optical fibre Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd on Tuesday said it has bagged a Rs 143-crore order from telecom company BSNL for manufacture and supply of copper telecom cables.

Sterlite will supply 20 to 2000 pair copper cables to the public sector telecom major in FY 2007-08, a company release said here today.

"With the award of this contract, Sterlite has over 23 per cent market share for copper telecom cables in FY 2007-08," the release added.
