Bakshi will be succeeded by Mukundan Menon, who is at present executive director and head of the room air conditioners business. Menon will become the managing director designate from April and subsequently as the managing director from September. Bakshi was with Voltas for over two decades.
In a stock market notification, Voltas said Bakshi has expressed his desire to not seek reappointment as the MD and CEO upon the completion of his current term in August which was accepted by the company's board on Wednesday.
Voltas became the largest brand in the Indian AC market under Bakshi. Noel Tata, chairman at Voltas, said Bakshi's leadership has been instrumental in making Voltas the undisputed market leader in the Indian room air conditioner market.
Voltas on Wednesday also announced the quaterly result for the third quarter ending December 2024 when its consolidated total income surged by 18% year-on-year at Rs 3164 crore while net profit was Rs 131 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 28 crore in the year ago period.
