Parag Kulkarni to be AO Smith’s India MD

KOLKATA: US-based water technology firm AO Smith Corporation on Wednesday named Parag Kulkarni as the managing director of its India operations.

Kulkarni was earlier the head of commercial lighting business at Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting.

The company said Kulkarni will have full profit and loss responsibility for the India operation, which manufactures residential water heaters and recently launched a line of residential water treatment products.

In 2008, AO Smith became the first American water heater company to enter the Indian market. Two years later, it opened a world class manufacturing operation in Bengaluru. The brand recently launched Puritee range of 100% RO water purifiers.
