Maya Appliances targets Rs 300 crore turnover
The Chennai-based Maya Appliances Pvt Ltd, manufacturers of leading mixer grinder brand Preethi, has targeted a turnover of Rs 300 crore for the current year. Last year it had earned Rs 227 crore.
The company CEO V Durairajan, who was here for the launch of new table top wet grinder in the state for the Onam season, said the sales grew at 33% despite slowdown last year, which was way above the national industry average of 8%. Preethi is the largest selling mixer grinder brand in the country with a sales of about 1 million pieces per annum.
The company has a national market share of 10% including unorganized and unbranded players. Mr Vijay Srinivasan, director, marketing of the company said Preethi has 25 % share in South India. The company is planning to cross Rs 500 crore business by 2011.
The company is aiming at increasing its sales from 1.32 lakh units to 2 lakh units in Kerala this year. Almost half of it is expected to come during the Onam season. In the process, it will raise the market share from 32% to 50% in Kerala.
