Marico plans company reorganisation

With a view to achieve sustained profitable growth Marico Ltd on Friday said it is planning a re-organisation of the company.

MUMBAI: With a view to achieve sustained profitable growth Marico Ltd on Friday said it is planning a re-organisation of the company.

The group would now comprise of three strategic business units (SBUs) -- consumer products business, Kaya Business and international business. Besides this the group would have three functional units -- technology, finance & IT and HR and Strategy, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"This re-organisation is aimed at giving each business a higher thrust and focus to enable growth and providing the right platform for functional support for growth," Marico Chairman and Managing Director Harsh Mariwala said.

The company's Chief-Marketing and Sales, Saugata Gupta would be the CEO of Consumer Products SBU, while Rakesh Pandey will continue to be Kaya SBU CEO.

The Sundari business, which was managed as a separate SBU has been brought under the international business, and will continue to be headed by Vijay Subramaniam as its CEO.

Pankaj Shargava, Chief HR, would head HR and OD consulting. Milind Sarwate, CFO, would now be Chief HR and Strategy.

Vinod Kamath, Chief-Supply Chain and IT would be the new Chief-Finance and IT Vilas Shirhatti will continue to be the Chief- Technology.
