Italian chamber to invest Euro 3-mn in leather industry
The Chamber of Commerce of Pesaro - Urbino Province of Italy, an association of small and medium sized organizations, today said that it planned t invest Euro 3-million in the leather and shoe business in the country.
The chamber will ink a pact with Chennai-based Association of Leather Manufacturers on October 22, the Chamber's President, Alberto Drudi, told reporters here during a FICCI-organised media interaction.
"We will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the association on Monday. This investment will be done to fund a project that envisages the exchange of co-operation in the shoe and leather business industry between both countries," Drudi said.
The project will be financed with assistance from the Italian external ministry, he said.
The MoU will be signed for a period of one year.
The association will also act as a facilitator for bilateral trade in various sectors such as leather, chemicals, agro-food machinery and textiles, he said.
The chamber has neraly 1,64,000 companies as its members.
