Godrej Consumer expects mid single digit sales growth in India during April-June quarter
Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) said its Indian business is expected to post mid single digit sales growth during April-June quarter, driven by higher volumes.
"In India, resurgence of the household insecticide category continued with strong underlying consumer demand. We did witness strong momentum in the hygiene category, however saw muted demand in hair colour and air freshener, which were temporarily impacted by the lockdown," the company said in a statement sent to the stock exchange.
In GAUM (Godrej Africa, USA, Middle East), it said sales could decline in the early twenties as most of the key countries were in standstill mode in April and early May resulting in sales loss. At consolidated level, the company said absolute sales is likely to be marginally lower compared to the base quarter.
