World Bank grants Rs 30 cr for PMGSY

The World Bank has released funds worth Rs 30 crore for execution of Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: The World Bank has released funds worth Rs 30 crore for execution of Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Under the programme, six schemes are being taken up for road connectivity in the region, District Development Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan said on Tuesday.
He said three major roads are being taken up during this year to improve connectivity to far flung areas of Uri tehsil.
Khan said 31 schemes, involving an outlay of Rs 59.26 crore, for development of 157 kilometres of road were in progress.
Another 10 new schemes will be taken up at a cost of Rs 44.44 crore for laying down 60 kilometres of road.
A maximum number of schemes would be completed within six months, he said.
