Reddy meets FM

The Reserve Bank of India governor, YV Reddy, met finance minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday.

The Reserve Bank of India governor, YV Reddy, met finance minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday. The meeting comes in the wake of the sharp differences between the two regulators on the time period within which participatory notes should be phased out.

But coming out of the meeting, Reddy declined to say anything to reporters.
While the committee on fuller convertibility, headed by former RBI governor SS Tarapore has said PN be wound down in a year, the Lahiri committee formed by finance ministry last year has differed.
