Piramal Finance clarifies after reports suggest talks with Keertana Finserv

The clarification comes amid broader market speculation that Piramal Finance -- a non-deposit taking NBFC with ₹91,500 crore in assets under management (AUM) as of September -- is evaluating a push into the fast-growing gold loan segment.

Piramal Finance Ltd has issued a formal clarification to the stock exchanges after reports suggested that the non-bank lender was in talks to acquire Keertana Finserv as part of its planned entry into the gold loan business.

The clarification comes amid speculation that Piramal Finance -- a non-deposit taking NBFC with ₹91,500 crore in assets under management (AUM) as of September -- is evaluating a push into the fast-growing gold loan segment. The company said that the reports were factually incorrect.

Keertana is a lending start-up with over 90% of its portfolio in gold loans. Its portfolio currently stands at ₹3,250 crore, while it aims to reach a ₹4,200 crore gross loan portfolio by the end of FY26.

Reports earlier indicated that the company had approached Keertana Finserv with a buyout proposal.
