PhonePe focuses on 'Made in India' with next-gen SmartSpeaker

PhonePe has launched its next-generation SmartSpeaker, a new version designed to cater to the evolving needs of merchants. The latest upgrade is manufactured in India, continuing the company’s commitment to fostering domestic innovation. This new SmartSpeaker builds on the original model, retaining its popular features while introducing notable enhancements.

The SmartSpeaker, first launched in 2022, aimed to provide offline merchants with a reliable payment solution, featuring voice notifications. Available in 21 language variants, the device also includes a celebrity voice feature with prominent Indian actors. The real-time audio alerts for successful payments allow merchants to focus on their business without having to constantly check SMS or app notifications for payment updates.


The "Made in India" version retains the popular features of the original SmartSpeaker, but with key improvements. The new model uses a 4G network for faster speeds and enhanced network reliability. It can be fully charged in around 75 minutes and boasts an extended battery life, providing over seven days of standby. The SmartSpeaker also offers clear audio, even in noisy environments, and its compact design makes it ideal for use in crowded counter spaces.
