PhonePe appoints Srijon Biswas as chief technology officer
Biswas will lead the fintech firm's engineering organisation as PhonePe doubles down on technology and platform investments.
Biswas, who has been with PhonePe for several years, has led engineering across multiple teams and played a key role in building the company's technology infrastructure as it scaled to serve hundreds of millions of users. Accoring to a company release, he will continue to report to co-founder Rahul Chari.
The appointment is part of a broader reshuffle of leadership responsibilities at the Bengaluru-based company.
"As PhonePe continues to expand and grow, strengthening our technology leadership is a natural step. Srijon's appointment ensures we continue to invest deeply in engineering excellence while building the technology platforms that will power the future of digital India," Chari said in a statement.
Commenting on his appointment, Biswas said he looked forward to working with the company's engineering teams to continue building products focused on innovation, reliability and scale.
As part of the leadership changes, Chari will assume the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). In addition to overseeing the company's technology and product functions, he will also lead Trust & Safety, Data Sciences & Analytics, Customer Experience and other strategic initiatives across the PhonePe Group.
PhonePe said it continues to invest in engineering talent and technology platforms as it expands its portfolio of digital financial services and consumer businesses.
