JPMorgan boosts India equity research

JPMorgan is expanding its India equity operations with additional hires in its research team to strengthen the coverage of key sectors, including energy, engineering, financial services and real estate.

HYDERABAD: JPMorgan is expanding its India equity operations with additional hires in its research team to strengthen the coverage of key sectors, including energy, engineering, financial services and real estate.
This is part of a plan to accelerate the growth of the firm's equity business in the country, JPMorgan's head of India equity research Bharat Iyer said in a release today.
"We are committed to strengthen the quality of our India's research franchise and to provide our clients first class services to meet their growing requirements for quality analysis," Iyer said.
"India is a vital part of the firm's Asia-Pacific strategy. In order to achieve our ambitious growth targets in India the firm needs a deep and broad research capability and these hires will certainly help us fulfill the aim," Head of Asia ex-Japan equity research for JPMorgan, Sunil Garg said.
