He has over 36 years of experience in the insurance industry and expertise in commercial insurance, risk management, underwriting, product development, and reinsurance. “I look forward to leading our dedicated team as we continue to provide customer-centric insurance solutions,” Mondal said. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation that has been established, while embracing new opportunities and challenges in the evolving insurance landscape.”
Over the years, he has made a significant impact at Iffco Tokio. As chief underwriter, he was responsible for overseeing underwriting across multiple business lines, including property, engineering, marine, liability, credit, health, and miscellaneous insurance. In this role, he also led the company’s risk management, product development, and reinsurance functions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mondal held key positions at National Insurance Company, where he gained experience in underwriting, claims management, and risk engineering for large-scale projects. His early career began at Steel Authority of India (SAIL) as a shift engineer at the Durgapur Steel Plant, where he was responsible for electrical maintenance in the blast furnace department.
