Insurance companies refuse extending deadline for crop premium

"I held meetings with insurance companies till last night. Now, the only solution is to meet union finance minister Arun Jaitley," he said.
The issue was raised by NCP legislator Dilip Walse Patil, who said the local staff was busy with Gram Panchayat polls and hence, the government should seek an extension for payment of premium.
Today, i.e July 31, is the last date for farmers to pay crop insurance premium.
