The IL&FS Group has initiated an interim distribution of are 5,000 crore, comprising Rs 3,500 crore in Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) units and Rs 1,500 crore in cash, as part of its ongoing debt resolution efforts.

The InvIT units being distributed belong to Roadstar Infra Investment Trust, which holds six key road assets including MBEL, SBHL, PSRDCL, BAEL, TRDCL, and HREL, valued at an enterprise worth of Rs 8,576 crore.

These units will be allocated through a private placement, followed by listing. These belong to holding entities- IL&FS Limited, IL&FS Financial Services Limited (IFIN), and IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited (ITNL). Post this interim payout, IL&FS’ total resolved debt will rise to approximately Rs 43,000 crore crossing 70% of the overall Rs 61,000 crore resolution target- Shilpy


The cumulative interim distribution across IL&FS entities will exceed are 17,000 crore, including the latest Rs 3,500 crore InvIT unit allocation and ?1,500 crore in cash, adding to the Re 12,000 crore already distributed to creditors over the past two years.

“This payout marks an important milestone for the Group; it resolves 6 major Road assets through the InvIT route,” said Nand Kishore, CMD, IL&FS Group.. “We are particularly happy that this interim distribution will facilitate payout to creditors including several public funds that are invested at holding company level, thus serving its intended purpose of facilitating timely fund release to eligible creditors, without waiting for the final resolution of IL&FS Group entities.“

The IL&FS Board has set February 17, 2025, as the record date for allocating InvIT units and cash.
