HSBC Australia dedicates team to cater for Indian community

MELBOURNE: Leading financial institution HSBC Bank Australia today announced the formation of a dedicated team to supply global financial services to the growing Indian community in Australia.

"Australia has one of the fastest growing Indian communities in the world numbering some 240,000. So this new service makes commercial sense," HSBC Australia Head-Personal Financial Services Graham Heunis was qouted by an AAP report today.

The new business will offer banking products of HSBC Australia to the non-resident Indians as well as refer their queries to HSBC India.

"Non-resident Indians tend to maintain strong banking affiliations with India so there's a real demand from the Indian community in Australia for access to Indian financial services," he said.
