HDFC increases retail prime lending rate on housing loans by 50 bps

Lender HDFC has announced that it is increasing its Retail Prime Lending Rate (RPLR) on housing loans by 50 basis points, with effect from June 10, 2022.

This announcement comes a day after RBI hiked the benchmark repo rate by 0.50% to control inflation.

The RPLR is the rate on which its Adjustable Rate Home Loans (ARHL) are benchmarked. Home loan rates are now starting at 7.55% onwards.


The RBI has upped the repo rate to 4.90% amid multiple crises, including geopolitical tensions.
