Covid 19: This microfinance company is giving tech prop to Tamil Nadu artisans

Chennai: Decking up for weddings and festival celebrations has come to a standstill with the outbreak of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu. What was once considered an extremely busy period for tailors, weavers and artisans around the state has been a lacklustre one owing to the spread of the pandemic, leaving countless artisans worried about how they will pay back their dues and keep their businesses up and running.

Sensing the plight of such artisans, Dvara KGFS, a microfinance player, has expanded its scope to do its bit for them. The company, which has many artisans as its customers, has begun selling their works through an Instagram page. With loans to pay and livelihoods at stake, these artisans may see some relief with this digital platform.

Tamil Nadu reported 1,091 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday taking the total tally to 24,586.
