S K Goel to be CMD of UCO Bank

MUMBAI: The government has sought consent from Allahabad Bank executive director S K Goel for his appointment as chairman and managing director of UCO Bank. It has also sought consent from some general managers for the post of executive director.

Mr Goel would take over as CMD of UCO Bank, after V Sridhar retires in July 7. He will have a term of nearly three years. Sources said that six GMs have received letters from the government seeking consent for ED post.

These include G Narayanan of Bank of India for United Bank of India, Bhaskar Sen of Union Bank of India for Dena Bank, K K Agarwal of Bank of Baroda for Allahabad Bank, J P Dua of Oriental Bank of Commerce for Allahabad Bank, B M Mittal of Punjab National Bank for UCO Bank and P M Basin of Oriental Bank of Commerce for Indian Overseas Bank.

The government has to yet finalise the names of second executive director in Syndicate Bank, OBC and Canara Bank.
