Exim bank to promote creative economy: TCA Ranganathan, CMD

Creative economy, including products of artisans, can be globally competitive and add volume to the country's $300-billion exports, chairman TCA Ranganathan said.

KOLKATA: Export Import Bank of India, or Exim Bank, plans to promote domestic arts and crafts at a time when global trade in industrial products has taken a severe beating due to the European credit crisis in Europe.

Creative economy, including products of artisans, can be globally competitive and add volume to the country's $300-billion exports, chairman TCA Ranganathan said. "We want to finance innovations to make our export units more competitive," Ranganathan said on Wednesday.
