Deutsche Bank, Landmark launch co-brand credit card

Deutsche Bank and Landmark have jointly launched a co-brand credit card, which gives reward points to customers for the purchases made at the stores of the book retailer.

CHENNAI: Deutsche Bank and Landmark on Wednesday jointly launched a co-brand credit card, which gives reward points to customers for the purchases made at the stores of the book retailer.

Announcing the tie up, Shameek Bhargava, Head of the bank's card division for Asia Pacific, told a press conference that the issuance of co-brand cards has become popular globally and would go a long way in increasing customer loyalty.

Hemu Ramaiah, CEO, Landmark, said her company's endeavour was to enrich the readers with a variety of products.

Shameek said Reserve Bank of India had permitted his bank to open branches at Vellore, Salem and Pune and they would be inaugurated very soon.

He said his bank was a 'kid' in the credit card business in India and its co-brand credit cards with leading retailers in the country, would help it 'mature in the business'.

Shameek ruled out a 'differential rate of interest' for regular payers and defaulters in payments. "We have not thought of it", he said.

The bank's brand ambassador and Tennis player Sania Mirza, who was the first to receive the Deutsche bank- Landmark co-brand credit card, said she was happy to receive the card and expressed the hope to maximise her purchase of books, movie DVDs and music CDs.
