Catholic Syrian Bank to set up first mobile ATM by Feb-end

Private sector Catholic Syrian Bank will set up its first mobile ATM in Kerala by the end of February next.

CHENNAI: Private sector Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) will set up its first mobile ATM at Thrissur in Kerala by the end of February next, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer R Venkataraman said on Thursday.

The Thrissur-headquartered bank has obtained licence to set up seven mobile ATMs in cities including Chennai, Thiruvanathapuram and Coimbatore, he told a press conference here.

Stating that certain issues remained to be sorted out, he said the first ATM would be installed in Thrissur probably by the next month end, after getting regulatory approval.

"Once the police permission is through, other things will fall in place and by June, all the seven mobile ATMs will be rolled out," he said.

Venkatraman also announced that the CSB had chosen the Bangalore-headquartered Sun Microsystems India to implement a comprehensive Core Banking Solution (CBS) to help centralise its operations for ensuring speedy and flexible services to customers.

He said all the 356 branches of the bank would be integrated with the CBS by the August next.
