Balachandran M re-appointed as chairman of National Payment Corporation of India

MUMBAI: Balachandran M has been re-appointed as the non-executive chairman of National Payment Corporation of India or NPCI for a further period of two years, the company said in a release on Friday.

He was given charge for the post two years ago on resignation of the former chairman N R Narayana Murthy.

Earlier, Balachandran served as chairman & managing director of Bank of India, Director of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS and nominee director of RBI to the Board of NPCI, before his appointment as non-executive chairman of NPCI.

A P Hota continues to be the managing director & CEO of the company.
