Norton Motorcycles, owned by India’s TVS Motor Company, has unveiled a new 450 cc urban motorcycle, with sales set to begin in 2027. The British brand announced the bike in London on Monday. In a statement, the company said the motorcycle marks the next phase of Norton’s resurgence and extends the brand into a new category.

The official model name will be announced ahead of the launch. The motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 45 Nm of torque. Norton said the focus is on responsive and accessible performance. It sits on an aluminium frame, which the company said is meant to give agile and confidence-inspiring handling. An 8-inch TFT touchscreen with advanced connectivity features completes the package.

The company said the design follows the principles of Norton’s new generation of motorcycles, which are perfect proportions, a strong stance, sophisticated surfaces and sharp attention to detail.

“Norton has never been defined just by engine capacity or a particular category of motorcycle. It is defined by its character, its design, engineering and the emotional connection it creates with riders,” said Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company.

Building on the new range

The 450 cc bike follows the four new-generation motorcycles that Norton unveiled at EICMA 2025, which were the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT. Deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas have started in European markets, with the Manx and Atlas GT to follow.

Norton said the Manx R has won the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept. It earlier won at the 2026 International Design Excellence Awards.

Venu said the new motorcycle carries the Manx R’s approach into a different category. “The new Norton 450 urban motorcycle carries the same approach into an entirely new category. It is not simply about extending our product range; it is about creating motorcycles with their own identity, each unmistakably Norton,” he said.

Norton is also working with Foster + Partners on a new global retail concept, as part of its effort to build a cohesive brand experience.

Norton has a retail network of more than 50 locations across 10 markets, including the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. Preparations are also under way for its entry into India and the United States, the company said.

The company said TVS Motor continues to invest in its Solihull facility in the UK as a centre for motorcycle design and engineering. The brand also draws on TVS Motor’s global engineering centre in Italy and its R&D headquarters in India.

“Our strategy is to establish Norton as one of the most desirable names in modern motorcycling, recognised for exceptional design, engaging performance and a truly discerning ownership experience,” Venu said.

Norton was founded in 1898 and is one of Britain’s best-known motorcycle brands. Its name is closely associated with the Isle of Man TT and with models such as the Manx, Commando, Dominator, Atlas, Navigator and 650SS. TVS Motor Company acquired the brand in April 2020. The company builds its motorcycles at its facility in Solihull, West Midlands.
