With the launch date of the next-gen Fortuner declared as November 7, 2016, the Japanese automaker has given a 'register' tab on its website where one has to insert basic details such as name, contact details and preferred dealership.
As said earlier, it was spotted at an Ahmedabad outlet with the mule boasting glossy black hue, sleek headlamps with smart LED DRLs and a good chunk of chrome around the fog lamps and front grille. With the fog-lamp housing done in sabretooth fashion, the front looks more aggressive. The side profile is equally gripping, with the window line having a kink at the C-pillar syncing effortlessly with the rear.
Additionally, the massive 18-inch alloys with big wheel arches add masculinity to the Fortuner's overall stance.
The mechanicals are likely to remain the same as seen in the newly launched Toyota Innova Crysta. That said, the buyers of the SUV will now have two options in diesel engines - a 2.4-litre mill and a larger 2.8-litre one. Coming to the petrol motor, it is likely to get the 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i motor.
Following a pattern of transmission similar to the one found in the Innova Crysta, the new Fortuner will get an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox - both mated to the powerful 2.8-litre diesel pot. The competition will be tough this time, since the newly launched Ford Endeavour has started getting a good response and recently, there's been a price cut for the Chevrolet Trailblazer as well.
