Mahindra & Mahindra on Sunday showcased a range of alternate fuel tractors and technologies at Agrovision 2025 held in Nagpur. The tractors, powered by alternate fuel technologies, are developed at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai.

Mahindra, the world's largest tractor producer by voume, displayed a new CNG/CBG tractor, an Ethanol Flex Fuel Tractor Engine and an Electric Tractor at the event, showcasing its commitment to lead "India's shift to alternate fuel technologies and driving cleaner, smarter, and sustainable farming solutions," as said by Veejay Nakra – President, Farm Equipment Business.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development were present at the event.


"Our presence at Agrovision 2025 underscores this commitment as we showcase innovative tractors and technologies that will shape the future of Indian agriculture, aligned with the Government of India’s vision toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070," Nakra said.

Mahindra has built the electric tractor on its global lightweight tractor platform, the Mahindra OJA. It aims to reduce operating cost and provides better torque delivery with overall efficiency for multiple application, along with an option of fast charging. The CNG/CBG tractor offers flexibility to run on both Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Compressed Biogas (CBG) and dual fuel (Diesel-CNG).

The Flex Fuel Engine by Mahindra is capable of running on ethanol derived from multiple sources like sugarcane, maize, maize husk, plant stubble, crop waste, and other farm-based sources.

Over the last few years, the leading tractor producer has showcased a range of alternate fuel tractor technologies, like a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) tractor, a CBG (Compressed Biogas) tractor and other pioneering clean technologies to reduce emissions and lower operating costs for farmer in India and the world.

The company also displayed an extensive lineup of reliable, powerful and fuel-efficient diesel-powered 2WD and 4WD tractors, and farm implements, from both Mahindra and Swaraj brands.
